With a heavy duty range of up to 600 tonnes, Duty Classification M3-M8, the  KONECRANES SM Spacemaker range of cranes combine excellent operating height and hook approaches with compact, lightweight construction. These characteristics produce substantial savings on building costs (up to 30% in many cases) and a maximum of work space.

DynAPilot KONECRANES UK swing damping solution that dramatically improves process efficiency - cutting your total costs

SM Spacemaker cranes also offer dramatic savings on initial investment and long-term maintenance costs as a result of the standardised production of components which provides the basis for its advanced integration design. Integration means less parts, less opportunity for failure and less production time lost when failure does occur.

Features of SM Trolley:
  • Low dead weight
  • Low height requirement
  • Totally enclosed transmission
  • Hardened and ground gearing for long life and silent running
  • True vertical lift
  • Duty class M3 - M8 with seven trolley frame options
  • Overload protection as standard
  • High performance operation
  • Dual hoist speed and DynAHoist variable speed alternatives
  • Extended speed range with DynAHoist inverter control giving up to 200% speed increase at 20% load
  • Lifting capacity up to 500t as standard
  • E.O.T. or goliath format

DynAPilot Konecranes UK swing damping solution that dramatically improves process efficiency
Cutting your total costs

What is DynAPilot?

  • Normal crane movements create load swing
    -     Swing makes load positioning more difficult and slower
    -     Risk of damage to load, other equipment, or people increases

  • Conventionally the swing has been damped by the driver
    -     Requires experience from several months to a year
    -     Swing damping slows down load handling
    -     Demands continuous attention from the driver

  • DynAPilot damps swinging automatically
    -     Uses load height information and driver’s commands
    -     Optimal acceleration path is calculated

  •      Performance – Easy & Fast to Operate

    • Increased performance through higher speeds and overlapped motions

    • Easy to operate all motions simultaneously both in manual and automatic operation modes

    • Operator training time reduced drastically

    • Separate crane operators are not required

    • Bridge & trolley speeds can be increased
      -   Normally increasing speed makes driving a crane difficult in a limited space
      -    Operator can use
full speed on all motions, even when close to the walls

    • Saves space
      -    Minimal safety zones needed => Whole storage area can be used from wall to wall
      -     Mechanical or diagonal rope reeving is not required to dampen the load

DynAPilot control allows operation of all motions simultaneously in both manual and automatic operation modes

         Extended Equipment Lifetime

    • Optimized acceleration & deceleration reduces stress on components

    • Reduced wear of mechanical components (wire ropes, power cables, rope drums, brakes)

    • Less burden on travelling motors

    • Less service breaks

    • Longer hoist rope lifetime

    • Reduced load swinging

    • Risk of grab damage is reduced

    • Low probability of the grab colliding with walls or equipment

Process Uptime & Less Material Losses

    • Higher availability

    • Less damage to equipment due to collisions

    • Less breaks in process due to damages

    • Higher utilisation rate in full automation

    • Fewer user interventions required

    • Less shutdowns through misuse of cranes

    • Easier use & less burden on operators reduces mistakes

    • Less material losses

    • Fewer collisions > less damages to loads

         Safe & Comfortable Working Conditions

    • Operators remain fully concentrated for longer
(The need for such intense concentration because of load swing damping & controlling speed is negated)

    • More human capacity to concentrate on driving the crane and selecting safe travelling path

    • Loss of concentration not so crucial

    • Risks of swings reduced

    • Less work related illness

    • Less physical and psychological stress on driver

    • Increased safety

    • Remote control from CCR
